WINNING COUPLE “SPEECHLESS” AFTER BEING CHOSEN FOR INAUGURAL WEDDING

Allentown native Tiffany Rupp and Scott Kushner received an early Valentine’s Day present as they were named the winning couple for the first-ever on-field wedding at Coca-Cola Park in a surprise announcement.  The couple was notified of their selection in front of local media members in a conference room on the club level of Coca-Cola Park.

“We’re speechless,” the couple remarked just moments after receiving the good news.  “We’re blown away that Coca-Cola Park is going to be the site of our wedding.”

The IronPigs received nearly 50 submissions for the contest and selected Tiffany and Scott based on a 150-word essay (that he wrote in just an hour to meet the deadline!) and an in-person interview process.
Remarkably, Tiffany and Scott first set sights for one another on a baseball diamond at Swarthmore College near Philadelphia in 2001 as centerfield counterparts in a pair of college baseball and softball games.  However, despite an apparent connection between the duo, they each went their separate ways without exchanging anything more than glances.
Four years later, Tiffany, a Dieruff High School graduate, sifted through profiles on Match.com and stumbled across the profile of a college baseball coach who looked familiar.  Eventually, she summoned the courage to email him, beginning a courtship that will culminate on Friday, August 8 in a spectacular wedding at Coca-Cola Park prior to an IronPigs home game against the Buffalo Bisons.
The winning couple will receive a wedding along with an estimated $18,000 in wedding services – which include photography, wedding rings, wedding cake, teeth-whitening and much more.
In addition, Tiffany and Scott’s wedding reception will take place in a THP Party Porch during the game. Several in-game wedding-related events are planned and the unforgettable evening will be capped by a fireworks extravaganza.
Wedding services will be provided by the following sponsors: Alison Conklin Photography (inclusive engagement and wedding day photography package); Redd & Co. Fine Jewelers (wedding rings for the bride and groom); Top Hat Formalwear (formal wear for the groom and groomsmen); Lehigh Valley Smile Designs (teeth-whitening procedures for the bride and groom); Dream Events (professional pre-wedding planning and on-site services); Rich-Mar Florist (elegant floral arrangements); Pun Nuptials (pre-wedding consultation services and on-field marriage); J & J Luxury Transportation (transportation services for the bridal party); Village Bake Shoppe (wedding cake); and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (wedding ceremony & reception for 60 guests).
The IronPigs inaugural season, presented by Capital BlueCross, begins on April 3 at PNC Field in Moosic, Pa., against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. The IronPigs return for Opening Day at Coca-Cola Park on April 11 at 7:05 p.m. against the reigning International League champion Richmond Braves.
Season tickets, mini plans and group tickets for the inaugural season are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting www.ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS.
