Chiefs Shutout 'Pigs 4-0 In Afternoon Game

Brian Mazone, pictured above, made his 2009 debut for the IronPigs, but it was the Lehigh Valley IronPigs who dropped game one by a score of 4-0. Game two of the day-night doubleheader will begin at 7:05 p.m.

Three IronPigs Headed to Triple-A All-Star Game

Rosters for the 2009 Triple-A All-Star Game were announced Wednesday and for the second consecutive year, three Lehigh Valley IronPigs were selected to participate in the contest.  Representing the second class of IronPigs at the Midsummer Classic will be RHP Andrew Carpenter, INF Mike Cervenak and 1B Andy Tracy.  The trio will join a squad of International League standouts that will battle the Pacific Coast League’s best in the 22nd annual Triple-A All-Star Game, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 15 in Portland, Ore.  First-pitch is tabbed for 7:05 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time and can be seen live on ESPN2. 

Lopez Returns To Bigs, Gets Call From Phils

Rodrigo Lopez, pictured above, worked his way back from 2007 "Tommy John" surgery last season, and after posting a 5-4 mark with a  3.91 ERA in thirteen starts with the IronPigs this season, the veteran has worked his way back to the majors, as the veteran righty has recieved the call from the Phillies today.

Carrasco Solid, 'Pigs Win Opener 5-1

Carlos Carrasco, pictured above, tossed six solid innings and helped lead Lehigh Valley to a 5-1 victory over the Syracuse Chiefs in the opening game of their two-day, three-game series at Coca-Cola Park.

Tides Roll Past 'Pigs 3-1 For Series Split

Terry Tiffee, pictured above, hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning, but it was the Norfolk Tides coming away with a 3-1 victory in the finale of their four-game set at Coca-Cola Park.
