The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are hosting tryouts at the Northampton Area High School football field on Wednesday, November 7th from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. to find the first public address announcer in IronPigs history.

The IronPigs public address announcer must have knowledge of baseball, be enthusiastic and available to work all 72 home games from April to September, in addition to playoff games. Most weekday and Saturday games are played at 7:05 pm and Sunday games vary between afternoon and evening. Those interested must be available one hour prior to scheduled first pitch.

The tryouts will consist of several phases allowing each candidate the opportunity to showcase their voice, reading skills and impromptu ability. Please have your resume and references available.

To register for the tryout or for more information please contact Jon Schaeffer at jschaeffer@ironpigsbaseball.com or 610.435.3001 ext. 31033. Since auditions will be conducted in five-minute increments we ask that you arrive promptly.

The IronPigs home opener is scheduled for Friday, April 11th at 7:05 pm against the 2007 International League champion Richmond Braves. Their arrival will end a 48-year drought by providing the Lehigh Valley with its first affiliated professional baseball club since 1960. The team will call Coca-Cola Park home – a $48.4-million, 10,000 seat, state-of-the-art stadium currently under construction in Allentown. Coca-Cola Park will be a multi-purpose venue for concerts, amateur games, community events and more.
